Copy-paste templates (Lithuanian, English and your language) and a checklist of what a CV for Lithuania should and should not contain. Then build and download it for free in our CV builder – 10 templates, PDF and DOCX, nothing is sent to a server.
What to put in a CV
- Contacts: name, phone, e-mail, city (a full home address is not needed – VDAI says employers should not ask for it without justification).
- Target position in the first line and 2–3 lines of summary: who you are, years of experience, one or two key skills, availability.
- Experience in reverse chronological order (latest first) with 2–3 results with numbers; explain longer gaps (Europass advice).
- Education, certificates and licences relevant to the job (forklift, driving category, welding etc.) with validity dates.
- Languages with levels (A1–C2): employers in Lithuania often ask about Lithuanian, English and Russian.
- Keep it to 1–2 pages and tailor the summary to each vacancy: copy the key words from the advert.
What to leave out
- Current or previous pay. Since 2026-06-07 the Labour Code (Art. 41) forbids employers to demand it, so you do not need it in a CV.
- Marital status, children, date of birth/age, ID number, copies of documents. VDAI says employers should not ask for family status or age without a justified need; send documents only when the employer asks for a specific one.
- Photo: optional. Europass suggests a professional photo, but it is not required for most jobs; leave it out if the advert does not ask.
Your data and consent
- After the selection ends, the employer should normally delete candidates’ data, unless you give clear consent to keep it for a defined time and purpose (VDAI guidance).
- If you want to be considered for future vacancies, add a one-line consent with a period (see the template). Without it you can ask the employer to delete your CV.
Cover letter: structure
- One page at most, formal and polite tone, simple font size 11–12 (Europass).
- Paragraph 1: why you are applying for this job. Paragraph 2: why you are a suitable candidate – one concrete example from your CV. Paragraph 3: why this company suits you – one fact about the employer.
- Use keywords from the advert (punctual, organised, team player etc.) only if they are true.
